Hope Connections Volunteers Honored at State Conference


Hope Connections volunteer Mary Bartoshuk, who also serves on the advisory committee for the Area Agency on Aging for Southwest Florida, was honored at the 2018 Florida Conference on Aging in Tampa with two awards recognizing her dedication and service to the senior community.

Bartoshuk received the 2018 FPL Quality Senior Living Award for Public Service, sponsored by Florida Power & Light and Florida Council on Aging. She was also named the AARP Florida Coast to Coast recipient of the 2018 Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus Community Trailblazer Award, given in recognition of AARP’s 60th anniversary. The AARP Trailblazer Award celebrates an individual who has made significant contributions through his or her involvement in community volunteer activities.


Superintendent of Glades County School District Scott Bass and Moore Haven Middle-High School Counselor Shannon Bass also attended with students Stephanie Standard, Javier Cardona, Austin Lee and Jacey Ridgedill, who were recognized with the Service to Seniors by an Organization Award. Matt Hudson of Hope Healthcare nominated the Glades County students for their service to Hope Connections.
